The recent main achievement and development about the study on fault diagnosis of rotating machinery with crack faults in shaft were summarized and discussed. First, the research status about the research methods, the dynamics model of crak stiffness, nonlinear dynamics characteristics of rotating machinery with crack faults were summarized. Then the problems for solving in research of crack faults in shaft of rotating machinery are pointed out, and the research trends of fault diagnosis in rotating machinery are prospected.
