This paper mainly discusses the compilation process of A Brief History of De'ang's Literature, introduces the data collection, compilation and the specific situation in the process of writing and points out the principles for the writing of the book, the structure of the book, the choice of materials, research methods as well as the focus of the book. From the perspective of literature history, it analyses the compilers’ view of literature history and comments on the achievements and deficiencies in the compilation of the book.
