Abstract:Li Juan’s collection of essays ‘Distant Fields of Sunflowers’ focuses on the ecology, production and living conditions of the Altay Gobi region in the context of the global environmental crisis.From the perspective of eco-criticism, this essay explores the theme between environmental change and human emotions in the works, reproduces the conflict and fusion between landscape change and place attachment, and exhibits strong vitality and profound land emotions of the border residents; meanwhile, it analyzes ethical, aesthetic and philosophical connotations in the writer’s ecological humanist writings, adheres to the ecological holism of mutual engagement among society, mind, and nature, advocates the coexistence of human, animal, plant and the land, and points out the strategies and paths for humankind to return to nature and to dwell poetically.
